Welcome to Thibodaux Laser and Surgery Center (TLSC)! Thibodaux Laser and Surgery Center is a licensed, Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC), and serves as the primary facility where the Advanced Eye Institute surgeons perform their outpatient ophthalmic surgical procedures. We are licensed by the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals and are certified by Medicare. Our team of registered nurses and surgical technicians specialize in cataract, glaucoma, eyelid, corneal, and refractive eye surgeries.  Located in Thibodaux, directly across the hall from the Advanced Eye Institute Clinic, Thibodaux Laser and Surgery Center is proud to be the only outpatient surgical eye care facility in Thibodaux!

Thibodaux Laser and Surgery Center promotes a friendly, experienced and well-trained administrative staff as well as an excellent team of nurses and other team members to make your experience as pleasant as possible. Many employees have been with TLSC for many years because they enjoy being part of a family of professionals who are humbled by the opportunity to serve the people of our local community and its surrounding areas. Our goal is to relieve much of the emotional stress involved in surgery, while observing quality care standards, in a relaxed but professional atmosphere. 

Scheduling Procedures

After visiting your Advanced Eye Institute ophthalmologist and determining which surgical procedure is right for you, you will be contacted by Thibodaux Laser and Surgery Center within 1 business week to schedule your pre-operative appointment and to discuss your surgery date.

Pre-Operative Appointment

You will arrive to Thibodaux Laser and Surgery Center, located in the medical plaza in Thibodaux, at your designated appointment date and time. This is an opportunity for you to familiarize yourself with our location, and allows us to make sure we have all of the necessary information that we need, prior to your procedure. Please bring your photo ID, insurance card(s), and any eye drops you are currently taking as well as any eye drops that were prescribed for you at your surgical consult visit. Your surgery date will be confirmed, as well as, pre-op guidelines and your eye drop schedule to follow prior to your surgery.

The day before your surgery, a staff member will call you with your arrival time for the actual procedure.

Day of Surgery

Please follow the procedure instructions that were given to you at your pre-op appointment. (Procedure Instructions can also be found under Patient Info). Following Surgery, a nurse will discuss post-operative instructions regarding rest, medications, and restrictions. Patients are discharged from Thibodaux Laser and Surgery Center under the care and supervision of a responsible adult over the age of 18, who can drive the patient home. Patients will not be allowed to go home in a taxi unaccompanied. In the event of any difficulties or complications, call Advanced Eye Institute or Thibodaux Laser and Surgery Center immediately.
