- Advanced Eye Institute is pleased to announce the availability of Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT) for treatment of Glaucoma.
- Many people don’t know, that Glaucoma is a leading cause of blindness in the United States, and is very prevalent in the Houma and Thibodaux area. SLT is one of greatest advances in the surgical treatment of intraocular pressure (IOP) in patients with open-angle glaucoma. The SLT laser uses microscopic laser light to open the clogged drains of the eye and lower the glaucoma pressure back to a safe level to prevent blindness.
